Installation

For long term use of this pump, please follow these installation instructions.

1. Electrical Connection
Make certain the electrical outlet being used for this pump conforms to the National Electric Code requirements (and any local building codes). A GFCI outlet is recommended especially if, as in most cases, the outlet is located outside of your home.
2. Power Cables
Secure the pump's power cable to the switch's power cable using 4 cable ties (spaced every 5 feet).
3. Connect hose
Connect a 5/8 inch garden hose (or a 1 inch nipple and flexible PVC tubing).
4. Secure discharge pipe
If the weight of the garden hose or PVC tubing is not sufficient to stop it blowing in the wind, secure it such that it does not blow back onto the pool cover.
5. Secure Base Plate
Use the screws that came with the pump to secure the base plate to the pump itself. This base plate keeps the pump upright on your cover and is required to keep the on/off switch functioning correctly.
6. Position pump onto cover
Gently position the pump on your pool cover. Take care not to get the plugs at the other end of the power cord wet.
