These safety guidelines should be followed at all times.
- Three Prong Plug
- This pool cover pump is provided with a 3-prong plug to reduce the risk of electrical shock. Make sure it is connected to a grounded outlet at all times.
- Usage
- Do not pump corrosive liquids through this pump. It is designed for clearing water from a swimming pool cover.
- Do not run dry
- This pump has an integrated diaphragm switch that turns the pump on/off to ensure it doesn't run dry. If the switch fails or you remove the switch to use the pump as simple utility pump, allowing the pump to run dry (i.e. be running with no water to pump) for extended periods will damage the pump and shorten it life).
- Freezing
- Remove the pump from the pool cover when conditions are likely to cause water to freeze. Allowing the pump to remain in service during such times is highly likely to damage the pump and will certaily reduce its life expectancy.
- Gasoline
- Do not pump gasoline through this pump - a fire or an explosion could occur.
